Why does the newborn rental kit makes sense?

If you are wanting to use cloth diapers on your baby from day 1 (or even day 2,3,4,5 etc) this is a cost effective and easy to use set of diapers with full instructions for less than disposables or a diaper service.

You've looked into newborn size diapers that are so adorable but just can't justify the cost right now especially if you're only having 1 child or your other children are older. (If this your first or second child and you're planning to have more it is likely worth investing in a set of newborn size cloth diaper you can use again and again!)

If you're new to cloth diapering this is also a great way to get hands on experience with different cloth diapers to find out what works for your little one and for your family. 

The newborn cloth diaper loaner program will fill up fast so please book your rental time early. If you're expecting twins or multiples please contact us to ensure we can provide the number kits you need.

You will keep your rental kit for a minimum of 4 weeks and may keep it up 10 weeks if you wish. Most parents choose 8 weeks as by about 2 months old most babies are fitting better into one size diapers and you can purchase your stash of those or whichever diapers you find work the best.

Your cost: Will be $76 for the 4 week minimum rental (8 weeks is most popular) and then plus the $49.99 of items to keep(detergent, wipes, liners). You can add more weeks at the cost of $19/week.

I do encourage you to reserve the rental kit in advance as not only will it guarantee your time for the kit it will also let us know if we need to add more kits to the program. To book in advance please just send an email with your dates and I can confirm they are available.

Want to ship the kit to you? Unfortunately, we're unable to offer free shipping on the newborn rental kit. You will be responsible for shipping charges to you and back to Abby Sprouts. We will ship it out with Canada Post Expedited Parcel so it will arrive quickly depending on your location.

If you're date is booked please email us to let us know as if there is enough demand we will add more kits to our program; however, you could also use the awesome Bummis Newborn Pack (or 2) to get you started.

1. The diapers and covers in the Newborn Rental Program have been used by other babies
during this program. The diapers and covers are rotated out of the program after approximately
six months.

2. The Kit Contents will be given to you clean and sanitized at the start date of your rental
period. It is expected that the items be returned to us clean and dry as per included washing
instructions.

3. The diapers will be provided to you with the intent of providing you with the opportunity to
trial cloth diapering during your baby’s newborn period. Your Newborn Rental Kit will be rented
to you for a period of a minimum of 4 weeks or longer (8-12 weeks is generally ideal but it
depends on the size of your baby and when you start with the kit so we wanted to allow you the
choice).

4. You must have a smoke free home to participate in this program. If anyone smokes in your
home, including outdoor smokers, you are not eligible for this program.

5. You will be provided with specific use and care (storage and washing) instructions for
the diapers and covers as well as laundry detergent. You will purchase a package including
detergent, fleece liners and bio-soft flushable liners for use with your Newborn Rental Kit
and these will be yours to keep. It is imperative that you follow these instructions and use the
detergent provided to wash the diapers.

6. Failure to follow the directions may compromise the diaper fabric and/or integrity of the
diaper. If a diaper is lost or damaged (broken fasteners, rips in the fabrics or stains on the
fabric that are permanent), you will be responsible for replacing the item at the retail cost plus
applicable taxes.

7. When your Rental Weeks are complete, the entire kit must be returned to Abby Sprouts Inc.
clean and dry as per washing instructions. Please ensure that no hair (human or pet) is caught
up in any of the Velcro fasteners. They will be inspected for damages.

8. One week prior to your rental you will be invoiced for a deposit for your kit, equal to $250.

When your kit is returned in good standing at the end of your rental term, your refund will be
issued. Please allow up to 2 business days following your kit return for your deposit return to
be processed.

9. Your kit must be returned on time; there will be a $30 late fee charged against your deposit
if your kit is returned late. You may contact us prior to return date to see if your kit is available
for more weeks but please do this prior to your return date. If the kit is already booked you will
need to return for the original return date to avoid late fees.
