Q: What is BPA? Are your bottles
A: All organicKidz™ products
are BPA free. BPA (bisphenol A) is a chemical that is added to plastic
in order to make it stronger. BPA has been linked to a number of health
concerns including endocrine disruption, some types of cancers,
attention deficit disorder and increased risk of heart attack.
Are your bottles free of PVC’s and Phthalates?
A: All organicKidz™ products
are free of PVC’s and Phthalates.
Will my child get a metallic taste in their mouth when drinking from
stainless steel bottles?
A: Bottles made of lower quality metals can result in the fluid
inside getting a metallic taste. organicKidz™ uses only the best quality 304 18/8 stainless
steel for our products. This is the same stainless steel that is used
in kitchen and hospital equipment and will not taint the contents.
Are there other advantages of stainless steel that I should be aware
A: 304 18/8 stainless steel has a number of advantages over
plastic, glass or aluminum including:
Stainless steel is corrosion resistant and will not break down
• It will not shatter, and expose your child to potentially dangerous
• Stainless steel will not leach harmful chemicals when heated
• Unlike aluminum, it does not need a liner to protect your children
from potentially harmful elements
• Stainless steel is easy to clean and does not require strong chemical
• Stainless steel will not scratch thereby preventing potentially
harmful bacteria to hide in your child’s bottle
How do I sterilize the bottles?
A: organicKidz™ bottles are naturally bacteria resistant. To
sterilize, use only a steamer and remove the bottles once they have
cooled by the threads. This will help to maintain the designs.
bottles dishwasher safe?
A: organicKidz™ baby bottles are dishwasher safe on the top
rack. We do recommend hand washing as this will increase the longevity
of the designs.
Can I put the bottles into the microwave?
A: No. Stainless steel is not recommended for a
How do I heat my organicKidz™ bottles?
A: All that is needed to heat your organicKidz™ stainless steel bottle is a glass of hot tap
water. You can also use a bottle warmer.
I am concerned that the stainless steel will get too hot for my child.
A: Unlike glass or plastic, stainless steel immediately matches
the temperature of the bottle contents. This means that simply by
holding an organicKidz™
4oz/120mL or 7oz/200mL single hulled bottle you will know if the liquid
inside is too hot for your child. Stainless steel will also cool down
faster after cleaning or sterilizing, making it ready to use faster.
How do I know how much liquid is in my stainless steel bottle?
There are three ways to keep track of the amount of liquid in your organicKidz™ bottle:
All organicKidz™ baby
bottle lids are a 2oz/ 60ml measuring cup. This is ideal for measuring
and mixing formula.
• The 4oz/ 120mL and 7oz/200mL bottles have a scale stamped on the side
of the bottle. If you pour 2oz/60mL of warm or cool liquid in the
bottle, you will feel warmth or coolness at the 2oz/60mL line. The scale
can also be seen on the inside of the bottle.
•The scale stamped onto the bottle can also be seen from the inside.
simply open the bottle and read the level of the liquid left in the
My lid is loose – is this okay?
A: Yes. All of our lids are made of stainless steel. A
function of stainless steel is that it expands and contracts when heated
or cooled. If your lid is loose, place it on it’s side on a flat
surface. Push down gently until you get the desired fit. If you push to
far, simply turn the lid around and push down again.
Are all of your bottles thermal?
A: organicKidz™ is proud to have the world’s only thermal baby
bottle in our 9oz/ 270ml narrow necked bottle. Liquids will be kept hot
or cold for over 6 hours.
My bottle ring broke, can I still use my bottle?
A: BPA is a chemical that is used to make plastics
stronger. Plastics without BPA can be more susceptible to breaking if
thrown or dropped on a hard surface. organicKidz™ replacement rings can be purchased from your
local organicKidz™ retailer.
offer a sippy cup as well?
A: Our bottles convert to a sippy cup when your child
is ready. Simply remove the nipple and replace it with an organicKidz™ sippy
spout. Your child will still be using the same drinking container they
did as a baby, so the transition to a sippy cup will be easier. Sports
spouts are currently in development. Our goal is to provide you with a
bottle that will grow with your child from birth to toddler and beyond.
Are organicKidz™ bottles
A: Yes, our bottles are made from stainless steel, so
they are 100% recyclable. However, because they are stainless steel,
they can be passed down to other children and won’t need recycling!
Q: My wide mouth lid is hard to get off the bottle.
A: The easiest way to remove the lid is to twist the
lid clockwise and pull
Should I use my organicKidzTM lid when I am using the
Yes, we recommend that you
always use your lid with our bottle stoppers, nipples or sippy spouts.
The lid will ensure that the surface remains clean for your child. By
preventing other objects from push against the stopper, the lid will
also help prevent accidental leakage if the seal is broken.

BPA, PVC and Phthalates
do we make our baby bottles without these chemicals?
Bisphenol A or BPA is a compound used in many polymer based
plastics like Polycarbonate Plastic (Shatter-proof clear plastic). This
plastic is used to make baby bottles. BPA
is used to strengthen and make plastics more flexible. Plastic without
BPA can be more fragile. In the body, BPA acts
as an estrogen receptor agonist, which leads it to behave in a similar
way to human estrogen.
BPA has been designated as toxic in Canada.
PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride is used to make vinyl polymers and is
used to soften plastics, and increase flexibility. It is commonly used
in a variety of plastic products and piping. It is considered to be a
carcinogen and can leach Lead and Phthalates.
Phthalates are used to make plastic more flexible, durable and
longer lasting. Phthalates are easily released as plastic ages. They
have been linked to Asthma, Metabolic Disorders, Attention Deficit
Disorder and interfere in hormone production.
Steel Baby Bottles, offer a number of advantages over the mainstream
plastic or glass alternatives. From hygiene to impact resistance to
stainless steel products should be your first choice for your family
The most obvious advantage to stainless steel is its
durability and longevity. This is because of its alloy composition
(meaning it is a composite of a number of metals). The result is an
inert metal that is resistant to corrosion and will not break down or
become brittle when exposed to heat or cold. Unlike some plastics, it
does not need additional chemical treatments to increase its
durability. Furthermore, it will not shatter when dropped, or scratch
with normal use. The scratch resistance of Stainless Steel also means
that food or bacteria cannot find a place to hide, even after washing.
Which leads to our next point, Stainless Steel is the
first choice of hospitals, kitchens and food processing plants because
of its easy cleaning ability. You do not need to use strong chemical
cleaners to ensure that the product is clean and it is not prone to
increased wear and tear from repeated washing.
Finally, Stainless Steel is a 100% recyclable
product. In fact the industry has aggressively pursued recycling
strategies for many years. In 2002 alone, approximately 12 million
tonnes of stainless steel was recycled. This means that 50-60% of
every Stainless Steel product is made from recycled materials (International
Stainless Steel Forum, http://www.worldstainless.org/ISSF/Files/Recycling/Flash.html)
As pointed out in the Financial Post (February
…”They put stainless steel pins in your body and people live
with them…There is no health issue.”
Although this may be a blunt way to put it, it sums up the advantages of
Stainless Steel very clearly. organicKidz™Stainless Steel products are at their heart, a
safe and reliable product for your family.
